These are always a must at Christmas time for me. I love this soft, almond flavored treat and find myself taking 3-4 at a time. I usually double the batch and separate the dough out into three parts making each a different color.
1 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp almond extract
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix throughly. Next add dry ingredients which have been mixed and sifted together. Add extract. Add desired amount of food coloring for cookie color.
Put through cookie press and bake in hot oven of 500 F/250 C for 4-6 minutes.
***Note: If you would like to add sprinkles to your cookies, do so before baking.
